After a period of intense preparation, this October 3rd, the twelfth graders from the Cuban province of Holguin began the entrance exams to Higher Education, which started with the Mathematics.
Andres Barea Paez, in charge of this school level in the territory, explained that 1,877 students, 682 of them belonging to the municipality of Holguín, including the candidates of the Order 18 and the young women of the Female Volunteer Service, took the first exam in the 20 venues prepared for this first examination.

During the months prior to this ordinary convocation, the educational sector developed an intensive preparation, with the purpose of achieving better results than the previous year.
Exercises typical of these tests, teleclasses and tests were some of the strategies adopted by the teachers, who on this occasion, took on the challenge of teaching the twelfth grade subjects to those who started and to review those who are taking the university entrance exams.

Barea Paez pointed out that students from the 14 municipalities of Holguin province participated in summer courses, where they received individual attention from teachers, consolidated more difficult contents and evaluated their progress.
He also pointed out that more than 600 students in the province have been awarded their degrees directly, including students from university colleges and winners of national competitions.

Finally, he highlighted the efforts of the sector to achieve favorable results, not only because of its position among the first territories, but also because of what it represents for the professional future of the applicants.
The Spanish and Cuban History exams will be held on October 6 and 12, respectively. In November, the second round of exams is scheduled for those students who, for justified reasons, were unable to take the exams.
