Holguín: Jusvinza applied in rheumatoid arthritis patients

The provinces of Eastern Cuba and Camagüey recently initiated an expanded intervention study with Jusvinza, which benefits patients with rheumatoid arthritis with moderate to severe activity.

This drug is a Cuban product designed for the treatment of autoimmune diseases and will be administered to the patients who are part of the study for six months; during the first month of treatment, four vaccines will be given, at the rate of one weekly and then one monthly for the remaining five months.

According to the head of this study in Holguin, Dr. Alberto Alberteris Rodriguez, “after an evaluation of the cases, carried out in April of this year, the patients who were candidates to participate in the intervention study were selected.

They underwent the corresponding complementary examinations and after verifying that they met the inclusion criteria, the product was applied to them on the ninth of April. They had to remain under medical observation for three hours, as required by the protocol”.

Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic inflammatory disease in which the immune system attacks its own tissues, among which are the joints, including those of the hands and feet.

Jusvinza is a Cuban biotechnological product made up of a molecule of 27 amino acids with an anti-inflammatory and immune response modulator effect.

In addition to rheumatoid arthritis, Jusvinza has previously been used for the treatment of COVID-19 in patients with hyperinflammation, and at the same time it is being used for conditions such as community pneumonia.
