On the presence of Luis Morlote, national president of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (Uneac for its Spanish acronym), Holguin Provincial Committee was constituted by the Organizing Commission for the 10th Congress of the organization, which will take place in this territory next May, 2024.
In a meeting held at ExpoHolguin fairgrounds, Julio Mendez Rivero, president of the organization in the province, announced the program of activities to greet the event, among which stand out the Ibero-American Culture Festival, the 10th Historiography Workshop, the 36th anniversary of the creation of Uneac in the territory, the Week of Culture of Holguin, the audiovisual creation event Taguabo and the Romerías Romerías de Mayo festival, among other activities.
For his part Morlote emphasized that Holguin Uneac has an excellent work sight the 10th Congress, to continue defending the cultural proposal of great stature and quality, which, in Holguin, is a reference for the nation.
“When one arrives to Holguin, when one participates in the events, when one comes and shares with the artistic movement of the territory, one realizes that national art is made here. The prestige, the results of the artistic and intellectual movement, Holguín, with its institutions, makes one always have to admit that it is in a good moment to face a process so rich, so important, as it is the X Congress”.
The Organizing Commission will face complex challenges as being in charge of defining the topics, concerns and proposals that will be addressed at the meeting of the artistic vanguard of Holguín, a branch composed of 268 members from the 14 municipalities of the province, and that has a consolidated artistic and cultural work since its foundation 35 years ago.
