Holguin: Value of ECOI 16 as a socialist state enterprise highlighted

The value of Empresa Constructora de Obras de Ingeniería number 16 (ECOI 16) as a socialist state enterprise in the province of Holguin was highlighted this weekend during the ceremony for the awarding of the National Vanguard status to this entity.

The enterprise achieved the high recognition for the fourth straight time and the National Union of Construction Workers (SNTC) highlighted the value of use of its works that benefit agriculture and the substitution of imports in the territory.

Castor is the trade name that has been with it for more than a decade and the experience and high finish of the works it builds are a guarantee for the future.

ECOI 16, based in the municipality of Mayarí, currently working on priority works of the East-West Water Transfer, mainly on the canals Nipe-Deleyte-Cosme-Herrera and Birán-Baguanos, as well as on the construction of Levisa Reservoir, said engineer Carlos Luis Abre Junco, general director of the company.

The construction of reservoirs and canals is also one of the fundamental values of this entity, which also specializes in waterproofing with high technology equipment.
Built by ECOI 16, the second children’s house of the construction union in the province was inaugurated this weekend, an educational institution for Early Childhood with a capacity for about 30 children.

The delivery of the national vanguard flag to ECOI 16 was attended by Rafael Hernández Aguilera, official of the Provincial Committee of the Party in Holguín, Dagmar Abad Noa, First Secretary of the Party in Mayarí, Zaira Díaz Ramírez, Vice President of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power and Misael Rodríguez Llanes, Secretary of the SNTC.

The entities ESI DIP Trasvases, GARBO and Cultura, as well as political and mass organizations were recognized for their sustained support to the 16th Engineering Construction Company.
