Impression on her colleagues and students

Reynaldo Velázquez Zaldívar, former rector of this educational center, described her as a pride for Cuban Higher Education, not only for her dedication to work but also for her firm belief that the University of Holguin is a space to grow and in it she put her maximum effort until her last days.

Similarly Diannelis Ibarra Almaguer, president of the Federation of University Stuidents at this Higher Education Center, referring to her work and meaning for the university community said: “Professor Almaguer has undoubtedly left a great void in the hearts of all of us who knew her and had the joy of sharing in different spaces with her. She showed us the serious, responsible and demanding woman that she was, but at the same time the cheerful woman that we will always remember, that dedicated professor and the mother of an entire university of which she was proud of. Today she is the greatest pride of our institution.

The University of Guantánamo, where she left an important mark, awarded the posthumous recognition Casa de Ciencia y Progreso (Medal of the First Level “House of Science and Progress”).
