With the participation of craftsmen from Peru, India, Ecuador and Argentina, the 22nd edition of the Iberoarte International Crafts Fair will take place in Holguin, this time dedicated to the culture of the province of Santiago de Cuba.
The trade and fair Expo Holguin grounds will host around 20 foreign exhibitors, from October 10 to 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., who will exhibit textiles, saddlery, goldsmithing and other varied expressions of this type of artistic expression.
Carmen Hernandez Torres, commercial head of the Cuban Fund for Cultural Goods (FCBC) in the territory and organizer of the event, announced at a press conference that the event will also bring together artists from Havana, Holguin and Las Tunas, who will have the opportunity to exhibit and trade their creations for 16 days.
Lote, a space focused on the promotion of visual arts, one of the most significant collateral places of the meeting, will be dedicated to artist Humberto Socas del Rio and will be characterized by highlighting in the exhibitions the colorfulness and temperature of Santiago de Cuba, said Hernandez Torres.
Simultaneously, the Papermakers Meeting will take place, organized by Cuadernos Papiro publishing house and dedicated to the production of manufactured paper and the work with natural fibers incorporated to it.
Sponsored by the Holguin branch of the FCBC, the Iberoarte International Crafts Fair is the second most important of its kind in the country and constitutes a meeting space for different artistic expressions where cultural exchange stands out.
