The workers of CMKO Radio Angulo got together to celebrate today the 25th of September the Day of the Technicians of Cuban Radio, an ephemeris instituted to remember Luis Casas Rodríguez, who was born on a day like today in 1906 and was the creator of the first amateur radio plant that allowed the continuous radio transmissions from August 22nd, 1922.
During the day, the work of these valuable technicians was recognized, who make it possible for the radio to go on the air every day, looking for solutions to the damages of the equipment, new or with many years of exploitation.
The moment was propitious to deliver other recognitions, as the Microphone of the Cuban Radio to the director Idalberto Betancourt Cordero, deserved for a man who has dedicated love and talent to make every day a better work, as he assured in his words.
This unexpected prize for Idalberto, who is also director of radio programs, announcer, actor, film and television documentary filmmaker, ratified the sustained quality of a man of good speech and wide culture.
Without a doubt, this award honors the Holguinera Radio System, as well as the New Generation recognition given to Amalio Carralero Reyes of CMKO, a young sound technician whose work has been awarded at festivals. Two other workers from the radio stations La Voz del Níquel and Radio Banes will soon receive their decorations.
Also, Jorge Luis Leyva Seisdedo of the Holguín branch of RadioCuba Company, was honored because his work makes it possible for radio programs to be heard throughout the green caiman.
