Workers in the livestock sector in the province of Holguín stand out for the favorable results in milk production by delivering so far this year over 14 million liters of vital food to the Dairy Industry.

Legna Ravelo Fombellida, subdelegate of this branch in the territorial direction of agriculture, stressed to the ACN that today the livestock entities in Holguin have a favorable situation to complete towards that end at the end of December the 20 million liters planned in the year.
This volume, it means, will be one of the highest in recent years in response to the measures implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture to progressively increase the levels of this line and thus contribute to reduce imports in the purchase of food in powder in the foreign market.

The specialist meant that the bulk of the dairy entities in the province maintains indicators above those predicted from January to date, with the exception of those located in the municipalities of Calixto García, Cacocum, Holguín and Gibara, but that their groups take measures to reach the commitments set out in the plan of the year.

This branch is in conditions, he said, to surpass in more than one million liters in this 2017 in comparison with the contributions to the Dairy Industry in the previous year and of that way Holguín will contribute to the deficit that can present other territories of the country that were seriously impacted by the damage of Hurricane Irma as it passed through the northern coast of Cuba.
