Cuban First VP Diaz Canel to Summit on Climate
Cuban First Vice President, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, leads the Cuban delegation to the Conference on Climate Change taking place from today to Decemeber 11th in Paris, the French capital city.

The summit seeks to establish a new biding global agreement to limit the global warm below two degrees Celsius, compared with pre-industrial levels.

At least 147 heads of State and Government, representatives of 195 countries, and the European Union, will attend this international meeting scheduled for two weeks in the so-called City of Light.

The day will begin with the official opening of the conference and the election of Laurent Fabius as a president of the COP21 by the 196 parties to the Convention.

The event opened with the speeches by French President, François Hollande, followed by UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, and Laurent Fabius. After a family photo, each of the 147 heads of State and Government will make a short speech. / PL.
