San Jose, the Costa Rican capital city, is ready to hold the Third Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) scheduled for upcoming January 28th - 29th, said Eduardo Trejos, Acting Foreign Minister.
Trejos said the 33 heads of State and Government of member countries of the regional bloc founded in Caracas, Venezuela, on December, 2011, are expected to attend the summit.
As part of the summit, some 2,000 members of delegations will also arrive to this Central American nation, and nearly 400 foreign correspondents have been accredited.
Trejos said preparations for the summit took several months.
Costa Rica was handed over the pro tempore presidency of CELAC by Cuba in January, 2014, during the Second Summit of Celac in Havana. /Source: PL.
