The handball squad that represented the north-eastern Cuban province of Holguin in the National Championship made a historic deed by achieving its third crown in the men category.

The 2015 win came true when Holguin beat Havana team (43 – 33) in the gold medal match played at the Rafael Fortun sports coliseum in the city of Camaguey.
Holguin's victory is also written in golden letters because they ended unbeaten in the event, where digger Noelvis Robles shown with 13 goals in the take it or leave it game, also standing as the best scorer in the tourney with 66 goals.
Also Holguin digger, Leandro Cobas, did it ok in the gold medal match with 11 goals; while Havana diggers Alexis Acota and Yuniesky Wong stood out in the offence with nine and seven goals, respectively.
For his feat, Robles was included in the honors board of the event, where Holguin manager, Jorge Maceo Elías, was also included.
Holguin team scored an as average 40 goal per match.
The team of Santiago de Cuba took Matanzas by surprise by beating defending runner-up (34 – 33).
Holguin that topped the standing was followed by Havana, Santiago de Cuba, Matanzas and Camaguey.
