Cuba achieved its second victory in the 2015 WBSC Premier 12 by edging the squad of Puerto Rico (8 – 7) in a match held at the Intercontinental Stadium of Taichung City, in Chinese Taipei.

Cuba was in the lead (7 – 2) over Puerto Rico, but the inspired Puerto Ricans tied (7 - 7) in the top of the ninth.
Puerto Ricans were losing but came from behind by scoring until tying, including a homerun by Richard Thon.
Cuba could do few in the bottom of the ninth, thus the IBAF' breakruler was applied.
Reliever Danny Betancourt saved the3 match and won.
In the bottom of the tenth inning, Cuban manager did not follow the bunt strategy- most of the time suggested by experts - because Yordan Manduley and Yurisbel Gracial were on second and first, respectively, and fourth batsman Alfredo Despaigne was at the homeplate.
Despaigne din not bat in the run, but his fly out helped Manduley reached at the third base.
It was then the chance for Yasiel Santoya to become the match's hero; however, he barely grounded to the first base, Puerto Rican first baseman tried to produce a double play, but he did not stepped on the base, thus allowing Manduley scored the victory run.
So far Cuba has won two matches and lost one, and today it will face Italy.
