With a total of 262 points, the representation of the province of Holguín recovered the throne of the National Weightlifting Championship, which ended this Saturday in Havana.

The strong holguineros achieved 32 medals, distributed in 12 gold, 11 silver and nine bronze, to overcome Granma and Pinar del Rio, in second and third, respectively.

On the closing date, Juan Columbié Sanamé, of the 105 kilograms, reached three golden metals and in the Jesús Manuel Quesada division, he owned two bronze ones.

For the women, Lorena Valentín (+90 kg) obtained the first three places, with a start of 93 kg, 118 kg and a biathlon of 211 kg; Yandira Reyes (75 kg) concluded with third places in each exercise.

In this way, Holguín's pessimists recovered the first place taken last year by their neighbours from Gran Canaria, who were greatly influenced by the work of coach Víctor Romero and his technical team, all under the command of Andrés Cruz Caballero, the provincial commissioner of the discipline.
