The International Master (MI) Lisandra Llaudy Pupo, current national champion, with coefficient Elo of two thousand 294 points, and Grand Master (GM) Isam Ortiz Suárez (runner-up) who owns Elo of two thousand 548 units, make up the Cuba team that will participate next September in the World Chess Olympiad, scheduled for Georgia.

Lisandra, occupying the third place in the Elo list of the Cuban archipelago, is a candidate according to specialized criteria to defend in the national team the second or third board while Isam must play in fourth place, predictions that only in Georgia will become reality or can be modified.

These two chess players have remained in the elite of Cuban science game for the last five years, hence the confirmation of their presence once again in the Olympic team; Of course, now with more experience and national and international experience.

For Lisandra attending Georgia has many motivations, including the option of being able to complete the GM norm, as for Isam decently defending the board that corresponds to him can bring him closer to the purpose that he announced at the beginning of the year: return to select club of the two thousand 600 Elo points.
