GM Holguin Camilo Gómez achieved third place in the Open group of the Capablanca Chess Memorial, with seven points out of 10 possible, an event that concluded this Saturday at the Habana Libre Hotel.
Camilo agreed to draw in the tenth round with his counterpart Lelys Stanley Martinez, in a game where both chess players were cautious until the end.
With this result Camilo increases 15.3 units to his particular Elo and reports an excellent performance in a tournament of great quality.
The other best located Holguin was the promising MF Arnaldo Fernandez de la Vara, place 10, with 6.5 and an increase of his Elo of 7.4 that comes very well to his future aspirations.
