Tables of the Great Masters (GM) Isam Ortiz, of Holguín, and of the capital Yuri González, combined with setback of the villa Clara Ermes Espinosa, provoked a triple tie at the top of the National Chess Championship for men that is played in Havana.
This Monday in the fourth round Ortiz, who led dark pieces, did not pass from the equality with his countryman Maestro FIDE (MF) Manuel Darío Ochoa, while Yuri did it before his Matanzas counterpart Yusnel Bacallao. With the same balance ended the duel between the GM Lelys Martínez and Omar Almeida.
For his part, GM Ermes Espinosa, of Villa Clara, leader alone until then, could not with the attacks of the young International Master (MI) Carlos Daniel Albornoz, of Camagüey, and the other Holguin GM Camilo Gómez suffered the same fate before his villaclareño Yasser Quesada.
After four rounds Yuri, Isam and Ermes, are matched in the first place with 2.5 points, next are Bacallao, Manuel Darío, Albornoz, Almeida, and Yasser Quesada, all with two units, and close the standings Lelys and Camilo (1,5).
For this Tuesday the fifth round is scheduled and the holguineros will have table by means: Isam to Llelys, Manuel Darío before Yuri González, and Camilo with Bacallao. It is completed with Ermes-Yasser and Almeida-Albornoz.
