Lysandra invades the top in National Chess Championship for ladies

After 38 moves of a Sicilian defense International Master (MI) from Holguin Lisandra Llaudy beat her similar Yeny Sánchez to take over the top of the National Chess Championship for women that takes place at the Eradio Dominguez Academy in the Cuban city of parks.

The experienced Maritza Arribas was better than Grand Master (GM) Yuleisy Hernandez and in the duel of santiagueras Oleiny Linares beat her countrywoman Zirka Frómeta, while Tania Miranda stopped the winning streak of the young Roxangel Obregón.

The other matches of the day ended in tables. MI Yaniela Forgas and Yerisbel Miranda agreed on equality, the same result that GM Yaniet Marrero and Vivian Ramón obtained.

After the first four rounds of the championship, the hostess Lisandra Llaudy leads the competition with three units. Roxangel Obregón, Tania Miranda, Yaniet Marrero, Maritza Arribas and Oleiny Linares are located from the second to the sixth place with two and a half points.

Yerisbel Miranda, Zirka Frómeta and Yaniela Forgas are from the seventh to the ninth step with two stripes; Vivian Ramón and Yuleisy Hernández accumulate a point, while Yeni Sánchez has only averaged half a unit.

This Friday the leader of the tournament, Lisandra Llaudy will have as rival the young Roxangel Obregón.

The other matches of the date will be between Tania-Oleiny, Yeny-Yaniet, Yuleisy-Vivian, Yerisbel-Maritza and Zirka-Yaniela.
