She lives at 146 Garayalde street in Holguin city, where we met the woman who was born in the town of Palma Soriano, but resides over the nicknamed Cuban City of the Parks since 1956.

The three children near her told us that her father, Miguel Serrano, married Francisca Estrada, her mother, and that she is very happy about her father having fought for the country's independence against Spanish colonial ruler, as so did her grandparents who also joined the army that fought for Cuba's liberty.

Her children: Ofelia, Elda Maria and Jorge Ricardo, say she is a lovely mother. She dedicated all her life to breeding them up, and that she insisted on boosting on them love for studying and education in way.

Of course, with the passing of time Micaela can not see very well today, thus she is unable to walk freely; anyway, she is a healthy person fro her age.

To the family's pride, she is in the coveted club of centenarians in Holguin province.
