Photo: Pl The Wikileaks website has revealed that former Panamanian President Mireya Moscoso was bribed into pardoning terrorists Luis Posada Carriles, Guillermo Novo, Pedro Remon and Gaspar Jimenez.

These men had been arrested in November 2000, following a public accusation made by former Cuban President Fidel Castro upon his arrival in Panama that they were planning on assassinating him during the 10th Ibero-American Summit.

According to an article published in the Panamanian newspaper la Estrella, the wikileaks cables revealed corruption in the pardoning of Posada Carriles and another 100 people by the Moscoso Administration.

The article makes reference to a cable dated August 26, 2004, by former U.S. Ambassador to Panama Lynda Watt citing press reports concerning the possibility that Mireya Moscoso and her sister Ruby might have been bribed into pardoning Posada and his three accomplices.
