According to Isairis Rojas, senior specialist in this cultural institution, the event will include the presentation of books on psychology, education, religion and traditional folk culture. "Las siete maravillas de la ingenieria civil moderna" and "La Constitución" by Roberto Diez, a book comprising of questions and answers about the Cuban constitution will be among the first proposals. The agenda will also include panels and documentary screenings.
The Fair will retain its cultural spaces; La hora tercia, at the Electa Arenal hall, the Children's Pavilion in La Periquera, the Pavilion of Social Sciences, in the Provincial Library; La hora martiana y Abrirse a las constelaciones, at the UNEAC, among other activities to take place in different workplaces of the province, said the specialist at the Holguin Book Center, Anisley Barquilla.
She added that in addition to the Fair, the Provincial Movie Center will include outdoor documentary screenings, while performing arts will be represented with street performances. On March 2, the fair will pay homage to local writers Emerio Medina, Casa de las Americas Prize winner 2011 and Luis Yuseff, Nicolas Guillen Poetry Award winner in 2012.
Provincial publishing houses will launch a total of 350 books in the coming Fair and some 227 new titles will be for sale in the various presentation spaces of this important cultural event. Some 31 copies of each book will be handed over to the public libraries throughout the province. / Source - ahora.cu
