Cuba and Peru Boost Parliamentarian Links

Cuban Parliament President Ricardo Alarcon met on Monday in Havana with his Peruvian counterpart, Daniel Abugattas Majluf, now on an official visit to the Caribbean island.

During the welcoming dinner offered to the legislator of the South American nation, the representatives of the two legislative organs exchanged opinions on topics of bilateral and international interest, and agreed to underline the favorable atmosphere existing for the consolidation of processes of social changes in the region.

Also present at the meeting were the ambassador of the Republic of Peru to Havana, Victor Mayorga Miranda, and Ramon Pez Ferro, president of the Cuban Parliament’s Commission of International Relations.

Abugattas Mejluf, who is a member of the Peruvian Nationalist Party (government), will stay in Cuba until February 23, and his agenda includes visits to centers of historic, economic and social interest of Havana.

The President of the Andean nation’s Parliament will meet at the Cuban Institute for Friendship with the Peoples on Tuesday with relatives of the five Cuban heroes condemned in the United tates for fighting terrorism. / Source - PL
