The 7th Congress of the National Association of Cuban Lawyers (UNJC) will conclude on Tuesday after an in-depth analysis on the role of jurists in the context of the economic organization promoted in the Caribbean island.

Cuba/ Jurists Tackle Current National Issues

During the first day of sessions, held at the Pedagogical Conference Center in Cojimar, east of Havana, Justice Minister Maria Esther Reus, in reference to the process of economic contract, talked of the need to increase the number of jurists to end and break subjective obstacles created within the sector.

It is important to raise executives' awareness, so that they are attended to by a judicial advisor when making a decision that tallies with their functions and responsibilities, Reus noted.

It is not only that jurists play their role well, but also that the target group collaborates, she said.

Their objective is to prevent conflicts, so jurists should participate from the negotiation process to a possible reclamation, but the executives have to recognize how necessary the advisor is.

UNJC President Arnel Medina noted the need to reinforce the ethics and professionalism of advisors and consultants. / Source - PL
