Ecoarte, an educational-environmental project from the Cuban municipality of Moa, will mark the World Earth Day next April 22 together with workers from the Comandante Ernesto Che Guevara nickel processing plant, in Punta Gorda, in Holguin province.
Actions to Protect Biological Diversity in Holguin, Cuba
Ecorate that was awarded with the National Environment Prize will join the agenda devised together with Cubaniquel business group to mark the 20 years of its foundation and the 90th birthday of Comandante en Jefe Fidel Castro Ruz.
The Directive Board of the Cubaniquel business group will grant an acknowledgement to MSc. Melaneo Maden Betancourt, Ecorate coordinator, for the contribution by this projrct on the rehabilitation of former mining areas.
The participation of Ecoarte members in the world celebration enhances with the rehabilitation work of children and youths together with nickel workers and leaders in the protection of the environment in Moa.
Ecoarte members have also been working in the community to make people get aware on the need of protecting environment by stopping or lessening the effects of contamination, the conservation of biological diversity, among other environmental actions.
