Proud of the patriotic local traditions, as the operations of the revolutionary Simon Bolivar Fourth Front, the people residing over Mir, a town from the Cuban municipality of Calixto Garcia, took part this Sunday in drills involving management and command bodies as crucial elements in reinforcing the country's military invulnerability.

The Sunday drill, which were dedicated to the 59 anniversary of the Granma yacht landing ad the foundation if the country's Revolutionary Arm Forces (FAR), drove the people's forces in the Territorial Troops Militia and the Production and Defence Brigades, to actively take part in the manoeuvres held in places of social and economic interest.
Volunteer members of the Red Cross showed skills in rescuing drills, as health staffers assisted the "victims" of an enemy air raid.
Workers from different factories and workplaces showed what to do to continue on with production and services in the midst of an enemy attack.
People taking part in the drill also worked hard in different other actions to protect children and elderly people, aided civil defence forces in the evacuation and got trained in several other actions.
To keep getting ready to face any future situation, people showed what to do to care for medicinal plants and when to sue them.
The people's evacuation plans and strategies were also reviewed, focusing on identifying the regions for concentration and the supply of food, transport, health care, water, communications, energy, education, culture and sports.
The two-day exercise started yesterday as part of activities to mark the 59th anniversary of the Granma (Yacht) Landing, the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) Day (Dec.2).
Through several manoeuvres during the two-day exercise, the commanders verified the exercises and the levels of preparedness achieved.
The Production and Defence Brigades proved the drill is worthily because they can check the functioning of that local force which are commanded to maintaining production even in times of a foreign military attack.
On the presence of top political and government leaders, FAR commanders and other ranked militaries verified the excellent state of the armament, making the best use of resources, which led to develop every activity with the required level, as planned.
