Cuba's Communist Party to Improve its Social Role
Cuban youth is a continuator of the work of the Revolution, and we it is our duty to allow them become the doers of the historic moment we are living today, said Salvador Valdes Mesa, a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) in his address to the delegates attending the PCC Provincial Assembly in Holguin.

In his closing words, the also Vice-president of the Council of State described the Assembly in Holguin as fruitful, as delegates focused on top priority tasks like the production and commercialization of food product coming from the local agriculture and ranching, the recovery of sugar cane, crime prevention and confrontation, corruption, illegalities and social indiscipline, issues widely debated.

Once the main report was passed by the delegates, they disclosed the actions to go aimed at solving today's problems and thus meet the motto of "Building the Better Holguin that We Want," which are in tune with the Political, Economical and Social Guidelines of the PCC and the Revolution, plus the update of the country's economic model.

Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, the Second Secretary of the PCC Central Committee, who chaired the Provincial Assembly, stressed on the need of raising demands and the control of all the tasks and missions, to increase agricultural production, to lower prices and meet the regulations of land leasing.

Luis Antonio Torres Iribar, a member of the PCC Central Committee, was ratified as the PCC First Secretary in the province of Holguin.

The members of the Provincial Committee, the Executive Board and the Permanent Working Commissions were also elected.
