The second season the Nipe Bay festival took place in Cuba's biggest bag bay with the goal of continuing on cleaning its water and nearby ecosystems; but the municipality of Antilla became the core of the event, as it was the will of its organizers.
Norkis Ochoa, who is an environment specialist from the Holguin province branch of the country's Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA), extolled the work done in the community to clean the basin.
Among other actions, they afforested the coastal line, and shared with the bay Provincial Group.
A competition with the participation of fishermen was held, which awarded the contenders that brought up to land the largest amount of solid wastes.
The children from Antilla took part in an arts competition on the different artistic expressions to collaborate on the cleaning of the water of Nipe bay.
A concert by Cubanos en la Red attracted much people, as they enjoyed the interpretation of the song of this event, but that also participated in several other activities.
Ochoa also wanted to praise the work by many entities of the northeastern province of Holguin, which have made a good job on the improvement of environment, like the Hydraulic Resources, Community Services and Agriculture, mainly.
Those entities have taken a large number of measures that have contributed to clearing the fragile ecosystems, as part of the goals set in the first Nipe Bay festival.
