"There still exists poor exploitation of the working hours, misuse of resources and the opportunities given, what hinders higher production, with quality and efficiency, a situation that should change, said Machado Ventura, who was accompanied by Luis Torres Iribar, a member of the PCC Central Committee, and its First Secretary in the province; Gustavo Rodriguez Rollero, Minister of Agriculture.
Machado Ventura stressed on the need of working for the steady growth of our economy.
The visitors toured the 107 hectares of the Tomas Machado cooperative, in-between the settlements of Cosme Batey and Herrera, in the municipality of Mayari, where rice is the main line.
Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, who is also a member of the Council State, extoled that farmers contribute with about 80 percent of the vegetables in the province of Holguin, and meant that food supply depends on them, not on the state.
