The permanent working commission of the Provincial Assembly of the People's Power in Holguín, which deals with agrifood and industry issues, noted that there are low levels of implementation of Science and Technological Innovation projects that could provide funding for activities that are economically and socially beneficial for the Turquino Plan.
According to the results of a control and inspection carried out by the aforementioned commission, measures were adopted with a view to reversing this situation, and the pertinent coordination was established with the provincial delegation of the Ministry of Science, Technology and the Environment (CITMA) and the companies to define issues that could generate projects.
One of the approved actions consisted of training representatives of the five holguineros municipalities integrated to the Turquino Plan, which are Cueto, Mayarí, "Frank País", Sagua de Tánamo and Moa, in order to initiate the exploratory phase and the identification of endogenous potentialities of these territories.
The investigation carried out by the aforementioned work commission identified among the existing common problems the marked deterioration of the roads, which affects passenger transport, despite the availability of new equipment.
A programme was approved consisting of 14 actions to be implemented by the bodies involved in the task and the Municipal Administrative Boards of Cueto, Mayarí, Frank País, Sagua de Tánamo and Moa.
