Self-employment in Holguín has had an undeniable impact, as the commercial and gastronomic movement is growing here every day and there is a notable need for accommodation and transportation.

Therefore, it is not surprising that up to the month of May in the province there have been about 45,000 registered self-employed workers, mainly in the activity of renting homes, rooms and spaces, according to María Elena Consuegra Gómez, provincial director of Labor and Social Security.

According to the recent meeting of the Provincial Board of Directors, more than 9,500 self-employed workers in Holguín are dedicated to passenger transportation, while 235 work with the Provincial Insurance Company.

Currently, more than 1,430 people are renting homes, rooms and spaces throughout the province, so the Labor Department is working hard to implement the rules for the organization and improvement of self-employment.

Pending the arrival of the regulations, Holguin authorities such as DIS, Hygiene and Epidemiology, the State Traffic and Physical Planning Unit apply measures to deal with non-compliance in our province.

It should be noted that due to the importance for self-employed workers of knowledge of the laws and of their own elements in their activity, the Labour Directorate in Holguín has formed 24 multidisciplinary teams with 48 instructors who will give training seminars.

I wonder where prospective users of the rooms for rent can find out about them? Is there a central database on a website of the rooms, locations, fees etc?
