The holding of workshops on Agroecology, Science and Technology in the municipalities of Holguín confirms the steps that are being taken in the province of Holguín in terms of healthy agricultural production based on the food of the people.

These events began on June 13 and will continue until June 28, sponsored by the National Association of Small Farmers (Anap) in this eastern province. They are scenarios to evaluate the work of farmers who apply agroecology in the territory.

The Provincial Bureau of Anap recalled that last November, delegates attending the VI International Meeting on Agroecology, Sustainable Agriculture and Cooperativism, held in Havana, visited the province.

On that occasion, representatives of peasant and indigenous organizations and agro-ecological schools from Canada, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico and Brazil were present and exchanged experiences with agro-ecological producers from the municipalities of Gibara, Mayarí and Báguano.

The joint work of Anap and the Provincial Delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture (Minag), is leading its steps towards the consolidation and development of agroecology through the application of technology and science. And the workshops currently being held confirm these expectations.
