The province of Holguín obtained the qualification of Good during the 81st tour of the National Group of Urban, Suburban and Family Agriculture (GNAUSF), a result that placed it in third place nationally.
This was reported by Elizabeth Peña Turruellas, member of the State Council of the Republic of Cuba and national director of Urban, Suburban and Family Agriculture, who congratulated the holguineros for the leap they had made on the previous tour, as they were in last place.
Eleven municipalities received the rating of Good for the results obtained in the programmes and subprogrammes checked, with emphasis on Holguín, Gibara and Banes, who occupy the first three places in the emulation; while Báguanos received the category of Regular, and Antilla and "Frank País" were not evaluated because they were in the recovery phase after being affected by rains.
Peña Turruellas had words of recognition for the progress made in the Holguinero territory, and urged to redouble efforts in terms of the seed program, the agro-ecological management of pests and the use and management of water, which in several municipalities present difficulties.
Julio César Estupiñán Rodríguez, president of the Provincial Assembly of the People's Power, expressed his commitment to continue to make progress in the production of vegetables, to the benefit of the people's diet.
