The holguineros jurists arrive to this June 8th, day of the worker of this sector, with positive results in its integral management, which located to this oriental province between the six most outstanding ones of the country, result that reaches for sixteenth consecutive time.
From June 1, a program of activities began that will last until June 15, including scientific, academic, political, cultural, recreational and recognition of outstanding jurists, which will create an atmosphere conducive to the celebrations.
A group of jurists currently focuses on internal control tasks, review of investment processes in local subordinate entities and checking of processes related to the illegal use of land, as well as developing environmental and gender and law projects, among other tasks.
Among the challenges that Holguin's lawyers currently face is the need to promote a legal culture in the social sphere of the territory, which includes not only the entities where they carry out their work, but also to extend it to schools and communities, among other priority objectives.
This is closely linked to the preparation of the people in constitutional matters, in accordance with the new constitution that is being prepared to enter into force in our country.
The holguinera branch of the National Association of Jurists of Cuba (ANJC) has more than 2,190 members, grouped in 78 base delegations and 33 executive directorates belonging to all areas of the sector, such as courts, prosecutors, legal counsel, collective law firms, legal services, notaries, registrars and specialists.
The Day of the Legal Worker is commemorated on June 8 in our country, as a tribute to Ignacio Agramonte y Loynaz, who defended his thesis on that date in 1865 to receive his degree as a Licentiate in Civil and Canon Law.
