In order to improve the metallurgical efficiency in this Cuban nickel and cobalt industry, The Ernesto Che Guevara Nickel Company in Moa will undergo repair and maintenance works from June.
According to preliminary data, agreements were made to guarantee the financing needed by the industry to undertake the repairs, maintenance and purchases of equipment and resources, aimed at increasing the productive efficiency in the industry.
The maintenance of the reduction furnaces, electrical systems and the purchase of mining equipment are among the priorities of the “Che Guevara”, whose program will be implemented gradually during this year and the first months of 2019.
In the Cuban nickel industry, given the characteristics of mining work, which are 24 hours uninterrupted, the equipment and means deteriorate rapidly, hence the need for the purchase of new trucks, tractors and excavators that improve the productive efficiency in one of the most important areas of the entity.
Simultaneously, and with the financing announced both nationally and abroad, similar programs of repairs and maintenance will be undertaken in the entity, which will improve the conditions for that factory producing the valuable export item.
