The booking company Viajero will start selling tickets for buses, railways and shipping companies in Holguín, starting next Friday.
"Our entity is responsible, in the Ministry of Transport, to offer all the transfer capabilities, except Cubana de Aviación. In addition to the agency that will officially open in the old Santiago-Havana terminal, we intend to assume others in Mayarí, Moa and Banes, "said José Álvarez, head of the aforementioned Reservation Agency in Holguin.
The official said that "it is planned to establish offices with ease for the acquisition of tickets in places that do not have an agency, and thus, through the connection with the head town, provide service."
This automated Traveler system will bring advantages, since it gives continuity of travel. For example, someone who goes to Isla de la Juventud can buy bus tickets to the capital and also the catamaran, as well as the return to the Cuban city of the parks.
The prices of the tickets are the same ones of National Buses and, if before they were three machines of issuing tickets, now they will arrive at six; so the waiting time of the customers will be shortened. Also, questions of availability of capabilities will have to be done in real time.
In the provincial capital, the creation of more than one point of sale is in prospect, at least three, said Delio Almaguer, Operations Director of the Provincial Transport Delegation.
