Among the priorities of The National Small Farmers Association (ANAP) in the province of Holguin there are to reinforce the activities with the youth forces in each one of its communities.
The President of the organization in the territory, Emilio Ramirez Ricardo told ACN that the work is aimed at progressively strengthening that work force to contribute in guaranteeing the production in the sector; in the case of Holguin, it’s decisive in its contribution of food to the population.
Even if youth representation is below the current needs in different structures of production, there are advances in the stability of the work segment in the cooperatives starting from a more cohesive work between the Young Communist League and ANAP.
The youth force directly linked to the agricultural production programs currently has some two thousand associates in the category, said Ramirez highlighting that they have seen major participation in recent times in the work of cultivation, harvests and animal breeding.
The campesino leader said that this has been one of the issues that have been followed so much by the organization in the cooperatives like the UJC on activities for the 57th anniversary of the creation of ANAP.
Strengthening the sector with the youth force will be determinate, he said, taking into account that Holguin is the province that has over 70 percent of the agricultural production in the hands of the campesinos and a good part of the current producers are seniors that require a progressive renovation.
