The work of the Detachments Looking at the Sea has been a bastion of the Revolution to defend its conquests. The work carried out by its members in the municipality of Antilla was praised during the assembly of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) of the province of Holguín, held in that territory, prior to the IX Congress of the largest mass organization in Cuba.
Among the aspects evaluated was the XII Joint Operation CDR-Tropas Guarda Fronteras (TGP), successfully carried out last year, with the assistance of the provincial and national Directorate of both agencies.
"This exercise was recognized for its quality and preparation to fulfill several activities with a high professionalism, such as cleaning the Nipe Bay, direct work with children's DMM and circles of interest, as well as contests of various cultural events," explained Jesus Ballester Caballero, coordinator of the CDRs in Antilla.
During 2017, the detachments of this coastal area were inserted into various preparatory actions, including drug recalls and confrontation with social indiscipline. They also carried out acts of entrance of young people to the DMM, which made possible the exchange of the new ones with founders of that initiative.
"The action of the groups of confrontations extended it to the neighborhoods with debates about the consequences and damages of the sowing, trafficking and consumption of drugs and narcotics," Ballester added.
At present, the Antillean municipality is preparing the XIII Joint Operation between the CDRs and the TGF, scheduled to be held next May.
The detachments "Mirando al Mar" were founded from the same revolutionary triumph, in the year 1959, and together with the Troops Guardafronteras are an insurmountable shield to the enemy.
Currently the DMMs are led by the CDR with advice from the TGF and have as mission to prevent illegal departures from the country, enemy infiltration, entry of weapons and drugs along the coast or at sea, as well as actions that may affect the flora and fauna of the coasts Cuban
