The University of Holguin plans to expand much more its academic activities by 2018 with the signing of new international agreements with counterparts in the United States and Latin America.
David Almaguer, director of International Relations at the teaching institution, explained to the Cuban News Agency the importance of these agreements, because every university needs to develop the visibility of its scientific results and this is only achieved through the exchange of experiences.
David Almaguer explained that if the signing of the agreement with the State University of New York takes place in the coming weeks, it would become the first agreement that unites the university holguin with a US institution.
He said that the fundamental interests in this regard can be achieved mainly through the experiences and knowledge of students and teachers in the northern country to receive disciplines such as Cuban culture, a subject that will be complemented with several options that will allow exchanging about the customs and reality of the Cubans.
Regarding Latin America, he underlined the preparation at this moment of the creation of a cooperation network on technological innovation with the Benemérita Autonomous University of Puebla in Mexico.
To this is added the signature, at the end of 2017, with the Catholic University of Chile and the Nicaraguan Evangelical Martin Luther King, for the realization of international postgraduate courses fundamentally related to the management of quality in the academic programs of Education Higher.
The University of Holguín, belonging to the Ibero-American University Postgraduate Association, currently has about 170 agreements between contrats and letters of intent with institutions in more than 20 countries. The most representative are those of Germany, Spain, Canada, Mexico, Ecuador and Colombia.
