The show "Me dicen Cuba," taken to the stage by the Provincial Center of Music and Performing Arts of Holguin, and the presentation of the popular band JG, marked the start of the 2016 Carnivals in Buenaventura, the head town of the Cuban municipality of Calixto Garcia.

The year's Carnivals that will be running till Sunday 24, is taking music and dancing, sound recreation, drinks and much joy to the town's heart: besides the Plaza Central, and to other sites like Pueblo Viejo, and nearby settlements like Cruce de Mir.

The gastronomy services go thru state companies and self-employees.

Friday and Saturday people can enjoy the parade of floats and comparsas; fireworks will be lighting up the night with a special show.

The popular group Mentes Callejeras that won the contest of the Carnivals' song has been attracting many people, especially youths, along Jose Marti avenue.

Many groups mostly coming Holguin are delighting dancers, but the music by organ bands can't miss the year's fiesta because it is the most deeply rooted cultural tradition in this jurisdiction, which is why, the presentation of the Hermanos Ajo is a massive attraction.

Last Thursday by the initiative of cultural promoter Edelvis Rodriguez Velasquez gained much attention and the jury's praise; it was in fact the parade of a float with town children dancing and promoting the start of the 2016 Carnivals in Buenaventura – the head town of a mostly rural jurisdiction where joy, culture, sports and friendship are never missing. / By Ordey Diaz Escalona – Radio Juvenil / Translated by Radio Angulo.
