Martí with his fall in combat rose forever

In an unfinished letter to his friend Manuel Mercado, after his political testament, written on May 18, 1895, on the eve of his fall in combat in Dos Ríos, the National Hero of Cuba, José Martí, clearly expressed his commitment to the Fatherland when he said:

When Armando Hart Dávalos described Celia Sánchez Manduley as "the most indigenous flower of the Revolution", he was not doing a simple compliment. It was an exact assessment of that revolutionary example born on May 9, 1920 in Media Luna, the old province of Oriente.

This April 19 has a very special meaning for the Cuban people. The anniversary of the Victory of Playa Girón will be commemorated and the new president of the Council of State and Ministers will be presented, elected by the 604 deputies to the Parliament who exercised the secret and direct vote in the constituent session of the National Assembly of Popular Power for its ninth legislature.
