With the presence of the highest government authorities in the municipality, the students commemorated the birth of the Hero with an emotional act where poetry, music and dance came together in a perfect amalgam of talent and culture.
The space was propitious for a group of outstanding comrades to be accredited as members of the Communist Party of Cuba as part of a process of growth initiated from the base in the ranks of the Union of Young Communists, both organizations that promote the ideological political work of the new generations.
The students of Camilo Cienfuegos´s School are heirs of the legacy of this town man. This is what Verónica Vera, a seventh grade student, thinks when she says that "her figure is present with his example, which inspires the new generations".
On the other hand Guillermo Cortez Mastrapa, ninth grade student remembers says "the teachers of the center work with the students aspects of the life of Camilo, not only because he is the hero whose name our school carries, but because his values and principles inspire us to be better every day. "
Camilo Cienfuegos Gorriarán was born in Lawton, a community of Havana, on February 6, 1932. He was an expeditionary in the Granma yacht and one of the most outstanding fighters in the fight against the tyrant Fulgencio Batista, which earned him the rank of Commander.
