The Mariana Grajales University of Medical Sciences in the north-eastern Cuban province of Holguin is going thru an external evaluation process for its accreditation.
Dr Marcia Noda Hernandez, head of the evaluation team of the National Accreditation Board (JAN), said that this time they will be evaluating till December 11 the degrees on Dentistry and Master of Higher Medical Education.
The group that is made up of experts and specialists in the field will analyze the behavior of six variables related to infrastructure, the educational process, university extension and other issues of interest.
The results of this process will be presented to the meeting of JAN. The category obtained by the Holguin University will be announced on February, 2016.
Katia Maria Ochoa Aguilera, rector of the university, presented the academic career, results and characteristics of each of the processes performed in the House of Higher Studies and the role played in the training of future professionals.
Luis Antonio Torres Iribar, member of the Central Committee and first secretary of the Party in Holguin and Julius Cesar Estupiñan Rodriguez, president of the Provincial Assembly of People's Power, presided over the meeting.
The party leader recognized the value of human capital of the university and urged to show knowledge and validate the work of the institution with transparency and professionalism.
There are 21 specialties at the Holguin Medical University. It also has subsidiaries in the municipalities of Holguin, Banes, Mayari and Moa, and to date, some 28, 967 national students and 2, 299 foreigner students from 44 countries have graduated there. / Ahora.
