A political-cultural gala to mark Cuba's Pharmacist's Day (November 22) was held in the city of Holguin on the presence of staffers and leaders from the 14 municipalities of this north-eastern province who stand out for their dedication to work.

The year's celebration, besides paying homage to the birthday of the revolutionary fighter and Doctor in Pharmacy, Antonio Guiteras Holmes, they are also commemorating the 41 years of the foundation of the Cuban Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
"Though we have moved forward this 2016, we have priorities and challenges insight. We should strived for a better presentation of our products and achieve higher quality in our services; but also widen the variety of natural and industrial medicaments, and the commercializing new cosmetics," said Saidany Gongora Lopez, who runs marketing in the Holguin Province Company of Pharmacies and Opticians' (Farmox).
The gala also served to acknowledge the best pharmacists (2015) and especially those who worked harder in the production of the chlorine used to fight the outbreak of dengue fever and cholera.
