The province reached a child mortality rate of 1.9 per a thousand life births, said Julieta Martinez, in charge of register of births at the Lenis hospital - anyway below the provincial average last year.
Martinez said those results take the hospital rank among the country's best, because according to estimates one out of three Holguin residents have been born there.
Dr. Idalmis Landrove, a Second Degree Specialist in Neonatology, explained that premature conditions, breathing troubles, and infections of different kinds have an impact on the newly born rate. / By Radio Reloj / Translated by Radio Angulo.
