The Clinical Surgery Hospital “Lucía Iñiguez Landín” turned 19 years old, this November 28. The date marked the beginning of the Anniversary Day, which includes multiple actions that will last until the first half of December.
The Clinical Surgery Hospital dedicated to the practice of surgery and teaching has outstanding services that have become territorial as it is the case of the Ophthalmological Center and the Transplant Center, the latter consolidated as the best in the country.
As pointed out by Dr. Rosel Batista Feria, who was the founder and head of the Teaching and Research Department of the hospital, who has 30 years of experience in the profession: "In this sense, the institution has been perfected in the kidney, cornea transplant and of stem cells, successes that give the hospital a higher scientific level, which implies an improvement in the quality of life of the population.”
The “Lucía Iñiguez Landín” Hospital in Holguín, in his first 19 years has seen the growth of several generations of students, both undergraduates and residents who have done their specialties and now provide services in around 52 countries. It has also contributed to the training of students of the Latin American School of Medicine, a fact that today allows Holguin and Cuban medicine to be elevated in different parts of the world.
The Anniversary Day began with the act this November 28 and today 30 leaders will star in the reaffirmation of his oath. On December 2 an activity is planned in the Historical Site of Birán, where a group of young people will be given the card that accredits them as members of the Communist Party of Cuba. On day four the Ophthalmological Center celebrates 10 years of creation, a fact that is also included in the day and one of the most important actions will be day seven, which coincides with the pilgrimage for the day of the internationalist martyrs, the scientific event will be held , for which about 200 research papers have been registered.
