The production of medicines from natural raw materials stands out among the contributions of the Provincial Homeopathy Center of Holguin to contribute through this way to help solving the deficit of industrial drugs.
Esperanza Gilling, director of the installation, stressed to the ACN that the materials used include onion and arnica tinctures, known for their anti-inflammatory properties.
She said that these plants have among their properties to relieve arthritis, joint pain and inflammation associated with bone fractures.
Natural medicines, she said, mainly favor the elderly and people with severe disabilities, of which more than 5,000 were attended in 2016.
To these population groups are also added patients with diseases such as diabetes mellitus, one of the highest incidence in the eastern territory.
Dalvis Martínez, an elderly woman benefited from the treatments, said that she felt an improvement in her joint pain after starting homeopathic treatments about two months ago.
The Center extends its services to primary health care and other branches of medicine, including stomatology.
