Cuba's National Choir Praised in Guantanamo
Where the Guantanamo Men´s Choir, the audience vibrates and hopefully this unique group keeps the support it deserves for its style and repertoire, said Digna Guerra, upon the conclusion of the tour of the National Choir on its 55th anniversary, with one last concert in Santiago de Cuba and exclusive performance in Havana on December 9.

The Director of the mixed choir and heading the choral movement in the archipelago described as a power in this art by its extraordinary and high artistic level and in all provinces, trained groups to represent the country in any foreign stage.

She explained that in her choir several generations have passed through, but it preserves the freshness with the entry of young graduates of middle and upper level from the art schools and the rest of the voices are found in other sources, although in tropical areas male´s bass tones are scarce, usually abundant in areas of the world with low temperature.

She said that instead, upon studying that curious phenomenon, Cuba is rich in sopranos and tenors and thanked the Guantanamo musician Conrado Monier, the handing over of a statement with arrangements that in her opinion, concern all groups that format in the nation.

The Antonia Luisa Cabal Concert Hall, Guantanamo, where the National Choir of Cuba gave its unique concert, will receive today at 9 pm, the distinguished pianist Frank Fernandez, one of the top figures of music in national and international scenarios. / By Martha Reyes Noa - Radio Guantanamo / Translated by Ilia Charon.
