Ethan Hawke, Hollywood Stars, to Havana Film Festival
Famed U.S. actor Ethan Hawke, four-times Oscar nominee, stands among the foreign personalities attending the 37th International Festival of New Latin American Cinema, which will present 444 movies in Haana December 3 thru13, and 159 in the competitive selection.

According to event organizers, following the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, more requests than the event could accept have arrived from the U.S.

Given this new scenario, the Festival will host a conference in which Cuban and U.S. participants will discuss the management of filmmakers' rights today.

In the past, other Hollywood stars have been seduced by the cinematic celebration which summons film lovers to the capital every December. Renowned figures such as Matt Dillon and Benicio del Toro have participated in previous editions of the festival, while this year sees the return of Geraldine Chaplin, president of the fiction film judging panel.

Chilean filmmaker and author Miguel Littín, as well as Italian director and script writer Marco Bellochio, are also confirmed to attend.

During a press conference, Ivan Giroud, president of the festival, revealed that 23 productions will be competing in the category of feature length film; 22 medium length and shorts; 21 debut works; 36 documentaries; 33 animations; and 24 unedited scripts, as well as 24 posters.
