The initiative will be implemented in several municipalities in El Salvador as part of the Interinstitutional Agreement with the Ministry of Culture of Cuba to benefit 430 children and teens from five to 17 years of age.
The presentation was attended by Secretary of Culture Ramon Rivas and Cuban Ambassador to El Salvador, Iliana Fonseca.
First, a diagnosis will be made to socialize the experience in this country through workshops including the children of the Presidential Chorus, the Morena Celarey Dance School and El Mozote village.
A second phase will take into accouht the results of the study to hold workshops for children, adolescents and facilitators in order to create little theater groups in different culture houses.
Then organizers will assemble the Cuban-Salvadorian group to perform the work "La Cucarachita Martina Pide Convivencia y Paz" (Martina, the Little Roach, calls for Coexistence and Peace).
La Colmenita children theater group was founded in Cuba in 1990 with the objective to promote human values through artistic creation, specially theater, besides involving ordinary children and adolescents and others with special educational needs in enjoying art to develop the children's world with the best of universal literature.
Its founder and director, Cuban Carlos Alberto Cremata, explained in a press conference that La Colmenita does not train artists, but promote human values and lead children to do good works everyday.
La Colmenita is a Goodwill Ambassador of UNICEF and has other similar groups in Mexico, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Argentina, Spain and Canada. / PL.
