The show, which starts in the Cuban Embassy in Colombia, includes 25 paintings made by artists born in Pinar del Rio, Cuba's westernmost province - known for its active fine arts movement.
"We seek to open doors, to find new spaces for our artists, to boost scenarios and spaces for sharing, in an attempt to promote the current situation of plastic arts in the two countries", Miguel Angel Couret, renowned painter of Cuba, told the Prensa Latina news agency.
The exhibition, organized also by painter from Pinar del Rio Silvio Martinez, is made up of various paintings of small size, said Raciel Linares, another promoter of the initiative.
Following the exhibition at the Embassy, the paintings will join a greater event on November 28 and 29, along with other artistic expressions like music, during the First Festival of Cuban-Colombian Culture, organized with the cooperation of the Library Los Fundadores. / PL.
