Lizt Alfonso to Perform in Latin Grammy Award Ceremony
Cuba's Lizt Alfonso Dance Company will perform for the first time ever in a Latin Grammy award ceremony.

The group was recently invited to participate in the gala, and there shared stage with popular Latin American artists.

Cuban singer and songwriter Pablo Milanes received yesterday the Honorary Latin Grammy award from the U.S. Latin Recording Academy.

Several Cuban artists are nominated to the awards in this 16th edition of the Grammys.

Among them are Septeto Santiaguero and Jose Alberto "El Canario" for "Tributo a Los Compadres. No quiero llanto," where Alain Perez also competes for "El alma del son - Tributo a Matamoros."

Pianist, composer and jazz player Ivan "Melon" Lewis will opt for the awards in the categories of Best Latin Jazz Album and Best New Artist for "Ayer y hoy."

Meanwhile, Silvio Rodriguez and Calle 13 are competing with "Ojos color sol" in the category of Best Short Form Music Video. / PL.
